We've done this a few times before. Tape out a box on the floor. Move stuff into the box we want to keep. Everything else goes to charity.
Almost ten years ago, we taped out a box the size of a U-Haul trailer to move to Norfolk. Last year, we moved to Nevada by mailing ourselves 8 boxes and putting everything else in a Toyota Corolla.
On Sunday, we'll start packing the F-150. The tape marks the size of the bed. What doesn't fit in the tape doesn't go back east.
There's currently no furniture in the box. We're using it. We have two folding tables, and four folding chairs. We'd like to roll up the futon and squeeze it in. If I can get the IKEA Poäng apart, we may take it, also.
Other furniture will be replaced when we get to VA and can visit the IKEA there. We feel that we're renting furniture for a short time. We buy it and donate it.
The COVID-19 pandemic looked manageable up until a few days ago. We're going through Kansas and Missouri, neither of which are not managing the outbreak well.
We'll be buying food at grocery stores and doing take-out from bars and restaurants along the way.
