ICW Reading List

We're getting our ICW reading list organized.

Skipper Bob Anchorages Along the Intracoastal Waterway. Crucial.

There appears to be a pattern here. Many popular anchorages seem to be about 50 statute miles away from each other. It's very likely that this pattern is essentially sampling error. A daily run of 50 mi. is a sensible goal. This is just over 42 nm; at 6 kn, it's just over a 7 hr trip.

I think there's a long history of boaters making 50 mi. daily runs; those anchorages are the best described.

Dozier's Waterway Guide 2012 Atlantic ICW.

Chartbooks. Landfall Navigation.com has a wide variety of resources, including chartbooks. Also, we have the latest C-Map charts for our chartplotter.

Coastalboating.net: "Thinking About Heading South?" is a summary of some of the important information.

Cruising World: "An Insider's ICW". Old, but still informative.

Log of Gyatso: "Annapolis to Florida via the ICW". Like this a lot.

Log of Malaya: "Southbound 2009". Helpful, as well.
