We took Bill and Diane out for a sail on Red Ranger.

15-20 kn of wind, 2-3' seas. A bouncy, but enjoyable ride.

When beating or reaching in wind over 15kn, it feels like we need one reef in the main and only the staysail. Running at under 20 kn, however, we can probably fly the full main. Sadly, we forgot to try that combination.

Also, we have much to learn about tacking. We failed three times to get her to come about. It seems that we really must have the mizzen pinned to weather to get her to point well-enough to tack.

This was the first time we tried anchoring to take a little swim in the Piankatank. We sailed up to drop the anchor almost like we knew what we were doing.
