Team Red Cruising

Ph. III, day 48, Weather Check

Checking the weather. Again.

This is from Zone AMZ650, Jupiter Inlet to Ocean Reef FL. It starts a little south of here. As long as we stay close to shore, it shouldn't be too bad.

Monday:
North northwest winds around 10 knots becoming northeast in the afternoon. Seas 2 to 3 feet along the coast and 2 to 4 feet with occasional to 5 feet in the gulf stream. Period 7 seconds. Intracoastal waters a light chop.
Monday Night:
South southeast winds 5 to 10 knots becoming southwest after midnight. Seas 2 to 3 feet. Period 6 seconds. Intracoastal waters a light chop.
Tuesday:
North northeast winds around 5 knots becoming east southeast in the afternoon. Seas 2 to 3 feet. Period 6 seconds. Intracoastal waters a light chop.

Here's one of Predict Wind's models:

Predict Wind

This seems to show the worst of it. About 21:30-ish Monday night we can expect wind out of the south 10-12 knots. This could turn into bashing into waves situation for a few hours. It should flatten out by morning.

Then, we'll be able to drop the hook near No Name Harbor in Key Biscayne and see how well our new dinghy motor works. And maybe we'll bait a fishook with some rat.
