Team Red Cruising

Ph. IV, day 26, The Conch Republic

This is hard to believe. I was there, and it's still hard to believe.

We're in Key West, on a dock. We have food, but expensive Key West dining options are right here. A few steps away.

There's a brew-pub just down the dock. It's the bar for Beach Brewery, where you can get Crazy Lady IPA. And food.

It turns out...

(And this is hard to believe. I was there, and it's still hard to believe.)

George and Carolyn from Indefatigable, one of our Whitby sister ships, had docked in earlier in the day, and were having dinner there. Right there.

We walked out after eating and drinking. CA noticed their dog, Liberty, a cute little thing.

And then George said "Cindy Ann?"

Cindy Ann was not expecting anyone here to know her name.

"George? What? How? Where?"

I had posted to Facebook. So George knew were where around. He and a bunch of sailors from Punta Gorda had decided to come down while the weather was mild.

Did not think to take a selfie. We walked down the park, watched the sunset, found a quiet place for a beer (It turns out, there are some quiet places on Duval.)

Since they leave near Port Charlotte, we can get some assiostance with out various little haul-out chores. So far, we think we have everything more-or-less planned out well.

The biggest concern is a ladder for the boatyard. Our ladder is in the truck. In Charleston. We might be able to walk to a Lowe's and grab a 16' ladder and walk back with it. Or. We might be able to borrow George's ladder.
