On the way from Niskayuna to Norfolk, we stopped to visit a friend since high school, Robert, and his wife, Diane. Diane said that when she left Texas to move to NJ, her brother was angry with her for leaving.
We talked about reasons for leaving, and we could see how someone left behind could feel unloved and angry.
The Commodore and I realized that the reason we can leave is because we are so loved. If we weren't supported by a tribe that loves us and supports us, this would be difficult. But because we are loved, se can cast off the lines bound for distant places.
